Got some nice training wheels on it, too. Start small, work your way back up to 1000CC! J/K, man. Glad you're OK. -John P :So it was Thurs night after Applebee’s bike night, me and few other riders went down Palm Valley Rd like we always do (Curvy road). This time I went to a turn WAY to hot. I knew I was going to run off the road so I looked to see where I could do it and hope to make it out (wrong move). Soon as I went off the road I hit a huge bump (still leaning into the turn)hit a huge bump and that kicked me over the handlebars and landed face first on the side of the road. Didn't even get to put my hands down. Soon as I landed I felt the bike land on me and we both skidded. The people I was riding with were awesome, kept me calm and told me everything was going to be ok. I was taken to the ER around 11pm. After all the cat scans, x-rays around 5am they told me I had a broken leg in 2 places, shatter ankle, bruised kidney ribs and lungs and my other lung was collapsed. Two hyperextend ankles, my shoulder was out of place and of course the wonderful road rash. I was wearing all my gear. My new Icon helmet is trashed; when I went face first I cracked the helmet in half and bent up, the fiberglass shoved right into my eyelid. I had a hole in my eyelid so I got stitches in that and right above my eye. I just got out of the hospital yesterday. :So this was a big learning experience. I know what I did wrong so ima going to take it easy and learn some more. My bike well, I need all new plastics, tank, windshield, master cylinder, triple tree and that bracket that holds the mirrors on. For those that don't know, this is a 03 gsxr 1000 copper and black. The frame, forks, everything else is a great shape. I will post pics later. : I know I would of been dead if I wasn't wearing a helmet. I know we all heard it before but when the doc looks at the helmet then looks at you and tells you " If you were not wearing this, by the damage of this helmet, I guarantee you would be dead" that’s when it hits home... :Guys behind me said they were doing 105mph right behind me when I went off the road. They said they never seen my brake light come on. : : : : : : :Here is my new Icon Mainframe helmet, look how it cracked however :that where most of the impact was.. : : :This is how the helmet looked when my friends seen me, see that point? That :is what poked me though the eye lid. : : :and this is the new Icon jacket I was wearing, held up very good. : :Its been over a month½ ago. I healed up good and have 2 screws in my ankle... :
